The NBII Bird Conservation Node is an information gateway and network of collaborators whose mission is to provide online access to data and information supporting the conservation of bird populations and their habitats in North America. The Node facilitates access to avian data and information by supporting activities that:
Improve discovery and availability of datasets via the Internet.
Increase use of standards, common protocols, and methodologies for collection, management, and delivery of avian data to facilitate data sharing and integration.
Improve access to web-based tools for data exploration and visualization that increase capacity to integrate data from a variety of sources.

Bird Conservation Fact Sheet
The main focus of the NBII Bird Conservation Node is to provide Web access to bird population and habitat data and information utilized in the management and conservation of North American birds. The node also promotes the coordination of bird information activities among organizations working toward the goal of integrated bird conservation.
